Can FS9 scenery add-ons work on FSX?

I have been looking for KDEN (Denver Intl airport) scenery add-on for FSX but the only one I have been able to find is for FS9 by imaginesim. Would add-ons like this one, developed for FS9, be compatible in any way to FSX or are the software engines built completely different to each other?

I have not tried KDEN in FSX but most FS9 scenery add ons do not work well in FSX without modifications. I am sure someone around here as tried KDEN.
