August 19, 201015 yr Hi,I have been an avid MS-FS user for years. Nut I would like to explore new sims. I have purchased X-Plane 9, but each time I install it, I trash it because of the differing ui compared to MS-FS. Some questions I have to make my X-Plane flying more enjoyable are:1. Is there a similar outside viewpoint to spot view in FSX that I can pan around in with my hat switch?2. Is there a 3D cockpit view point similar to the FSX VC that i can pan around and move around in with out track ir? (ie use hat switch for pan, keys to move fowards/back, side to side)Thanks in advance.
August 19, 201015 yr Hello !Yes for both questions. You have similar views in MSFS and X-Plane:http://wiki.x-plane.com/Chapter_5:_X-Plane_Menus#The_View_MenuOf course you can set your own keys or joystick buttons. Configuring X-Plane and learning what's available in the menus is part of the fun.X-Plane is not MSFS, so don't expect to find the same UI. Only a few functions like "G" for retracting the landing gear are the same. :( But here's help for MSFS users:http://www.x-plane.com/pg_Switching.htmlHappy flying ! August 19, 201015 yr As for the 3D VC view, yes it is capable, but there are a lot fewer aircraft available with it then FSX, even a number of the default aircraft doesn't have a 3D VC view. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
