  1. Since virii are propagated via email, drive by website, memory stick etc, even if you are careful, by not having antivirus software you run a real risk of getting infected - and then being completely unaware for an extended period of time.
  2. Some of them are showing their age a little now, but the coverage easily makes up for being shy of cutting edge. Would recommend the purchase do long as you manage expectation. Orbx it is not, but good value it is.
  3. You can also hook up to quite a few fsx progs using XPUIPC as a direct FSUIPC replacement interface. FSCommander works this way as does Project Magenta and Sim Avionics to name but a few.
  4. Spelling mistake / typo"A forum for add-on developers to gather and discuss their projects, seek assistance and share thier techniques and experience with add-on designs for X-Plane."
  5. Open the buttons advanced tab then press the direction and set view-pan (left/right/up/down) fast for each
  6. You want the advanced buttons tab, it has the pan left FAST, pan right FAST etc. Use these rather than the normal pans for the quick pan rate you're looking for.
  7. I use XPlane 9 as the basis for my home cockpit. I'm using Project Magenta for avionics and systems, ACE 737 yoke, CPFlight MCP/EFIS, FDS MIP and Revolution Simproducts throttle. There are plugins for consumer level hardware such as saitek switch panels / Goflight etc. but yokes just work out of the box, as do joystick throttles such as saitek or ch. Do some research to check if your hardware works or not.
  8. If you build it, they will come...Every additional high quality plane brings more people over.
  9. I understand a review to be in progress.
  10. While I could see the app itself working, what about the plugin?
  11. Euroharmony - Community led flight simulation as it should bewww.fly-euroharmony.comWe have hubs in Europe (several), US, Canada and Asia. Core timetable, divisions for cargo, business and charter. Missions and GA Tours as well as propilot - an enhances acars system which also critiques your flight and models actual aircraft moving around our dynamic timetable. We support FS2004, FSX and X-plane 9 and 10.
  12. Personally I'd rather have the full flight model system with optimisations and grow the number of aircraft over time than something like MSFS handling. That said, It's probably better to actually see it implemented instead of guessing what it will look like.
  13. Dennis,ATC and AI are some of the main features coming in x-plane 10.See Austin's nuttiness This is from 15 sept 2010 on the news page.http://x-plane.com/pg_news.html
  14. The advanced tab - hit the button, then views-> pan (left, right, up, down) fast is what you want for the four directions.Or turn on TrackIR ;)
  15. This was released yesterday, still in an introductory 20% off sale: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=59
  16. You might like my cycle views plugin. Hitting F8/F9 will cycle a limited selection of views forward and backhttp://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=536.0
  17. I have an i7 PC running Windows 7 x64. The application itself runs fine, I bought it last year for FSX (version 4) and I ran it on my last machine when I first switched over to x-plane to try it out. I don't currently have it installed on this machine (as I have to do the email reg key request). However, IIRC in MSFS you have a menu that pops up 'in-sim' from which you select the various options to contact atc. If this is something handled by FSUIPC on msfs, then this functionality is not yet implemented in XPUIPC, which is a plugin which aims to provide the same interface for x-plane. http://www.tosi-online.de/First.html No Radar Contact menu appears in x-plane, so you can't control radar contact options. Can I get confirmation that Radar Contact only uses FSUIPC to talk to flight simulator? If that is the case, then I know it's just a case of waiting until the XPUIPC dev implements this functionality.Would be awesome to be able to use Radar Contact with x-plane as it would vastly improve my simming experience.
  18. I saw a post from October 2003 which said that radar contact has been ported to x-plane (7), but a few things were being worked out with Sandy Barbour. As I now fly x-plane, it is of great interest to me.I have tried radar contact with xplane using xpuipc (which is fantastic), but the in sim menus don't work, which means that you can't use it.Any further plans for x-plane? I don't know if it might be easier with the XPUIPC plugin no in existance, but would love to be able to use radar contact with x-plane 9 (and 10 when released).Regards,
  19. Go and grab a plugin called XPUIPC and drop it in the xplane/plugins folder. Then you can continue to use FSCommander for flight planning and moving map. (Which rocks btw)It can't read the xplane database yet, but that might come in a later version. Just use the fsx or fs2004 database instead - that mostly matches xplane (although I have sat on a grass strip that wasnt in that database :) )EDIT: FSWidgets make a free google maps moving map plugin if thats all you need: http://fswidgets.com/shop/download_files.php#gmapxplane
