August 26, 201015 yr All three of my Traffic sliders are at 30%.I recommend getting Ultimate Traffic II. It gives you the option to turn off AI Jetway movement. With that option, along with the way it inserts traffic, allows you to have many times more planes at far less of a FPS cost. Plus you can set it to be dynamic, give it a target FPS to shoot for and it wil add and remove planes from the sim to keep things running smooth. A very nice way to get your airports full of traffic. And as for usepools, if you use usepools=0, you MUST lock your frames outside of the sim. Any spike in framerates provides a real good chance it will crash the system. And if you have 4 cores (always turn of HT for FSX), affinity mask =14 or 12 is a great way to streamline the processes of FSX Scott Kalin VATSIM #1125397 - KPSP Palm Springs International AirportSpace Shuttle (SSMS2007) http://www.space-shu....com/index.htmlOrbiter 2010P1 http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/

Thanks for the heads up, im sure you saved me a lot of reading later tonight when i mess with that... ...and to be clear... DONT use the FSX frame limiter, and DO use FPS Limiter? Thanks! <---------------> Mike Murawski
August 26, 201015 yr UT2 and the NGX are the next two items on my FSX purchases list!!!As for having to lock the frame rates outside of FSX when using "USEPOOLS=0"... Thanks for the heads up, im sure you saved me a lot of reading later tonight when i mess with that... ...and to be clear... DONT use the FSX frame limiter, and DO use FPS Limiter? Thanks!Correct, you have the frames in FSX set to unlimited. And you use FPS Limiter which creates a new executable that will limit your frames, set that to 30.When you start FSX with the new startup link, you will see in big green letters (dont worry it doesnt stay displayed for long) FPS: 30. When you fly you can press ctrl+z, aand you should se your FPS bounce around thirty ,rarely deviating more than 1FPS.You need the frame limiter, especially since it seems that you are using a GTX200 series, with usepools=0, because you are now essentially sending all the commands to generate the frames straight from the processor to the graphics card, with no intermediate (or buffer). That means if you FPS spikes, all of a sudden your GPU gets hosed with a load of commands that it may not be able to handle, and thus it will start outputting artifacts or flat out crash. With the limiter, you keep the stream steady and constant, and the GTX 285 should be able to handle it.http://forums1.avsim.net/topic/281538-the-bp0-conclusions/page__hl__Hey-sus+tweak a very very good place to start when you are jumping into the world of usepools.
