August 24, 201015 yr Jim (or anyone else who might know)Is there any way to refresh AI traffic in ASE by setting up, and using, a hotkey combination via the keyboard, rather than accessing the program and pressing the button on the "Reports" screen? I'm using FSX.Thanks.Bob
August 24, 201015 yr Hi Bob,You can move the time forward or back a few minutes in FSX and that will do the same thing. I don't think there is any key assignments that can do this though. You would have to go to the Time and Date screen in FS.
August 25, 201015 yr To summarise then, ANY method which refreshes AI either from inside FS or using ASE applied AFTER ASE is loaded and AFTER your flight plan is processed in ASE will do the trick?I would council against refresing AI in flight - I seem to get odd wind & temperature data at my destination if I do that.
August 25, 201015 yr Author Assign a key press for "Refresh Scenery" using FSUIPC4 OK thanks, I'll check that out.
August 25, 201015 yr Hi All,Refresh Scenery only re-loads textures. It does not re-fresh the ATC portion of FS.
August 26, 201015 yr Author Hi All,Refresh Scenery only re-loads textures. It does not re-fresh the ATC portion of FS.Well this tip seems to work quite well. Actually, it refreshes more than just the scenery. I assigned a hot key to "Refresh Scenery" and pressing it updates the scenery, the terrain and the wx, and it only takes about 5 seconds. I press the hot key about 70-100 miles from the destination airport. I've tried this with two flights so far, one with DWC "on" and one with DWC "off", and in both cases, RC ATC vectored me to the correct rwy consistent with the prevailing surface wind at the destination airport. AI aircraft also landed on the same runway. The only anomaly is that the destination airport wx that Radar Contact provided, in both cases, was not consistent with the METAR info. So I just ignore what they're telling me. But I think this is more a problem with RC than with ASE. The important thing is that RC gets the active rwy correct, based upon the surface wind direction.

Using this hotkey and refreshing AI before the flight begins, via ASE, seems to work though (so far).
