Fuel Table Error

Recommended Posts

Right now I am expanding on my fuel calculator, to automatically determine fuel required. While graphing it I found something that may or may not be a misprint. For FL310 distance 6400 in the standard units table, the fuel load jumps more than 100,000 pounds of fuel, and then goes back to the expected rate at 6800. If one was to subtract those extra hundred-thousand, it would make more sense when graphed and fall perfectly in alighnment. Another example would be FL310 at 3200, but at a lesser degree.PMDG, being the people with inside information may have something to say with that specific distance being an extra fuel consumer...

I found some discontinuities in the tables when I created a spreadsheet calculator (see AVSIM library with author = dan downs); my method was to either reject if too far out or allow if within an eyeball of being possible, I used simple polynomial regression by the way.

Yeah thats what I do as well (be it Linear, Quadratic, or Cubic, whichevers closest). You can check my name and the fuel calculator has a takeoff distance calculator using cubic down to the ten-thousandths place for accuracy. So you think I should subtract the (possibly) added hundred-thousand pounds to give a more accurate chart?ADDITION: By the way, I checked out your calculator and was wondering, how did you get "TD" (TripDistance) to work in box C12 without telling spreadsheet where TD was or without quotes?

Eric, it's been a couple years since I played with that spreadsheet and I am in the middle of a move now and can't look at it for a week or so. Please send me an email at downscc@swbell.net and I will take a look at it as soon as practical.
