i don't know exactly, i'm on LTAC.i am new at aviation, actually while i descending, i remember that altimeter shows like 3000 fet, but i was on nearly same as trees.

LTAC is at 3135ft so showing this would be correct. Altimeter shows height above sea level not above ground level.John Ellison

LTAC is at 3125ft AMSL. So no problem there. If you want to depart at sea level, try Hong Kong, VHHH. Well almost sea level :-)Try to learn more about the aviation basics, like altitude, Flight Level, height, QNH and QFE and their differences. It's hard to fly an MD-11 when you get confused by the basics. Numerous books and online stuff are available on the subject.Regards,Markus
