Hi to all guys, I'd like to purchase a third-party Garmin 1000 for my GA aircrafts. I see on the web there is 2 major vendor for FSX:1) Mindstar Aviation2) FS2XDoes anyone have tried one of them? Could someone gimme some suggestions about which is the best?I know that FS2X is not upgradable via Navigraph (like their site said), but on Mindstar site there is nothing about it, anyone does it know if I can update the databse?thanks in advance

The Mindstar version is upgradable via Navigraph subscription.The Flight1 Tech version is still under development.The FS2X version is adapted from the default G1000 system, is XML based, and uses only the default FSX database.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't know Flight1 G1000, it seems fantastic and Flight1 is ever a warranty imoh. What I'm afraid would be probably the higher price considering the Avidyne costs $99,00. But we will see....1) Do you know a probable release time? Because I would choose this of Flight1 instead of Mindstar, even if Mindstar seems to be a good product, but I trust more on Flight1 product.2) Do you think it could be integrated even in other aircrafts than those officially named in the site?3) I don't know pratically anything about panel or bitmap modifing to include this G1000, are there some tutorial can I read about or where I can learn something, sorry but I don't know "what" to search in google?thanks in advance

Good news! I'd like to purchase it before you told me about one of F1. So you could help me because you have a system similar to mine (W7 64 bit, 5GB RAM DDR3 Corsair, GTX275 NVIDIA, i7 820):the beta version (Windows7/Vista) is more ccomplete than XP's one or not, in the site they tell have more features. And have you got problem to include it in GA aircrafts Virtual Cokcpit? I'd like to purchase the next upcoming Columbia 400 from Eaglesoft with G1000 and integrate then with Mindstar.Thanks

Currently, once you have purchased the Mindstar G1000, you can request access to the current "beta version," which is -as you've noted- is more "completed" than the stable, release version.The installer comes pre-configured with a number of GA already, and there are numerous "user edits" available in Stasi's support forum.

That forum is only available to those in the beta test, AFAIK...
