September 8, 201015 yr Hi, during the past year Ive been upgrading My PC component by component on a budget, and because the PC is used as a regular gaming PC I opt for the AMD ATI rig.The problem is that I consider i should be able to run FSX in a smooth way, this doesnt happen. Firstly I was suffering from Vsync Issues until I added the correct lines at the FSX.cfg ForceFullScreenVSync=1 this solves the issue, but then again, Im suffer from slutters every now and then my sistem is as followsASUS M4A785TD-V-EVOAMD Phenom II X4 955 overclocked just by Multiplier to 3.8 cooled by coolermaster HTX-3 running 2 fansHD5870 overclocked to CCC at 900MHZ Catalyst 10.84 GB of Ram Kingston two of 2GB KVR1333D3N9/2G (im not sure about Timmings) (dont even know what they mean)SEAGATE barracuda 500GB 3G/S 16mb cache windows 7 64 and FSX accelerationSB X-treme audio I usually get a steady 25fps, using PMDG MD11 i get 18-23, I have tried using a lot of tweaks trying to reduce slutters, but none had worked, speccialy because im not use what is the correct tweak to fix the slutters, or what setting should i downrgade to reduce slutters. Right now I have a normal fsc.cfg just using the vsync and just added the shaders mod, and im still testing it. usually fly in PNW but i get slutters anywhere, even default scenery. I dont use AI traffic, bloom, lens flare, aircraft shadows on itself.Mostly i like my cloud coverage to full, and my scenery density and autogen to NORMAL. any help, tweaks or recomendations are welcomed, im begining to think that my ram or hard drive are the ones next to upgrade... what do you think?I run fps unlimited and limited to 25 via FPS limiter
September 11, 201015 yr Hi,FSX is known to be extremely CPU hungry, and people who are very serious around FSX, go for a Core i7 based rig, overclocked to 4 GHZ, which I think no AMD CPU can match today. And even such systems can hardly generate more than 20 FPS over New York or other dense cities or clouded areas.PMDG aircraft also take a heavy toll on the RAM, so I would add another 2-4 GB RAM, and see how that works.BR,Anders
September 11, 201015 yr Yeah first mistake AMD... you have the equivalent of a Core Duo...not a modern i5/i7.
