September 8, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi all,Could someone give some advice on the best product to purchase that will allow me to easily place skyscrapers around sparse FS9 cities. I have used programs that allow me to add oil rigs, cargo ships, small buildings etc, but nothing to place large buildings. I have a very fast system running FS9 so FPS is not an issue, ideally I would like Flytampa style VHHX buildings to place but maybe that's asking for too much. Thanks Rob Prest
September 8, 201015 yr Hi,Instant Scenery 2 is definitely my favorite.. as far as adding skyscrapers, you might need to design some using gmax first. Or use the limited amount of them within the library items that will show up using Instant Scenery...Marc
September 9, 201015 yr Hello Rob,I don't know what FlyTampa's (excellent) scenery uses for buildings - perhaps you could show a picture.Flight Simulator allows for the easy creation of generic buildings. Here are some examples:And many more in all shapes and sizes. There are a number of tools, free, that will let you create and place this type of building for FS 9.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
September 9, 201015 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks Luis & Mark!Luis the default tall buildings would do for now, could you point me in the direction of a good program to add them. I have noticed that we can download lot's of ships, barns, malls, houses etc to place in scenery but no company has released a pack of high quality skyscrapers which seems odd considering at most major cities you can see them on approach.I'm not looking for exact replicas of real buildings, to give you an example Flytampa Dubai has done a good job on the city, but if you fly to Doha,Bahrain, Kuwait etc the scenery is totally flat when in real life they all have equally impressive skyscrapers. Thanks again for your help :) Rob Prest
September 9, 201015 yr Hello Rob,I haven't used FS9 in a long time, and really don't remember all the tools that are used for it. However, Arno always has some very nice options on his web site and if I am not mistaken there is something there that will create generic buildings - Object Placer or ObPlacer should be the one.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
