Windows XP Patch Q811493 Frame Hit ??

Recommended Posts

Max,I, like Kurt, have the SP1 patch installed. I'd strongly recommend you install that first. Despite what some may think it does reduce, not increase, the number of bugs in XP.:-hah Cheers,

I think the jury's still out on that one Ray. I'll wait until SP2 (actually, I'd rather wait until the next consumer version of Windows comes out but we'll see).-Max Cowgill

Ray,sorry, I was out all day doing errands.I checked the file in my System32 folder, and after reading ahead (to catch up), I'm like Max ... No SP-1.Oh well, I think maybe I dodged the slowdown (but how would I know?).More importantly, OK ... OK "RAY & BOB" is good with me ... I'm in good company ... !

I would like to thank all of you for your replies. For those with Win XP Pro, you can go the MS site via the ugrade facility in Win XP.The patch listed is the latest one, and has been updated to correct the FPS situation. I just installed this patch and had no FPS hit. Every thing was just fine.Stanner

Bob/Max,I'm not quite sure why you wouldn't want to install SP1 if you're happy to install separate patches that MS make available. It's your call of course but it still baffles me.Bob, you'll know if you have the FR problem - frame rates will be half what they should be. If you can remember what you should be getting at Meigs in FS2002 the performance in FS2004 should be pretty close.Cheers,
