September 12, 201015 yr Hello All,When I press decrease throttle button for reverse, I can see throttle lever goes down in reverse mode as it should, but aircraft just sits still (all brakes are off). When I do same actions on Aerosoft DHC-6 everything works fine , so it is probably a bug. Am I forgetting anything? What is a proper way to do reverse?Thank you.

The difference is in the amount of reverse thrust. I'm not at my FSX PC, but as I recall the Carenado Caravan is set to produce 15% reverse thrust and the Aerosoft Twotter 25%. You can check by looking at the mouseover text tag for the throttle when it is in full reverse. The 15% setting isn't enough to get the plane to roll backwards. There are some folks on here who fly Caravans for real and can comment on whether or not the reverse is just for shortening the landing or the Caravan can actually back up.
September 12, 201015 yr Author Thanks. Yes, Tooltip shows 15%. I just assumed that since reverse is present that aircraft will move back.
September 13, 201015 yr Reverse thrust is not normally designed for pushback... many operators do not allow the use of reverse for ground manoeuvring for many reasons, FOD being one of them...From what I understand of things here, reverse is only going to be necessary on short field operations, as taking that huge prop to idle is enough to slow it down rather quickly... It is as if the C208 has a built in speedbrake...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
September 14, 201015 yr Author Thank you for you responses. As I mentioned above, when I saw reverse I immediately thought that I could back up just as in DHC-6. I couldn't find much information if Grand Caravan could go back. Thanks
