September 13, 201015 yr Hi,In the VC what is the most realistic zoom level to use to achieve the same perspective as when sitting on the left side in the real bird?
September 13, 201015 yr Author Please forgive me since this might be a stupid question but what exactly is RMI and how does that compare/relate to the zoom level in FSX?Currently I'm using 0.50 zoom most of the time but sometimes I go to 0.40 zoom to see the instruments at the same time I'm able to look out of the window and other times I of course have to zoom in instead to be able to read some of the instruments.I'm running FSX in 1920x1080 resolution.
September 13, 201015 yr RMI, if You know it's size You can put ruler on Your screen and set zoom to match it's size Yeap, those things are big, so they can provide precise information and be read easily. But I'm not RW pilot, so someone may correct this.
September 13, 201015 yr Author Oh, that kind of RMI :( Was thinking it had to do with the size of my screen or something like that.Well...doing what you suggest would of course give me the real size of that single instrument but if the scale is correct I doubt everything else would fit...I do have a 40" screen but it won't swallow a complete cockpit I'm sure :wink:Maybe Robert could shime in on this one or do we have some other real driver in here that could share his experience regarding this?
September 13, 201015 yr Author Giving this a second thought when you say 9 cm that in fact is the actual size of the instrument but what I would like to know is what size the RMI will have measured between your thumb and index finger when you're sitting in the right hand seat in the real J41.However just for the fun of it I checked the size of the RMI on my screen having the zoom set to 1.00 (which should be the actual size) and sure enough when having the zoom set to 1.00 the RMI measured exactly 9 cm...guess that is pretty good evidence about the quality of this PMDG panel :smile:Very cool !!
