I'm going to upgrade my PC n.1 for my B737NG Home-Cockpit.This is the machine that runs FS9, FSX , MCP software and some other stuff...so I need good performances.Outside view will be addressed to a Matrox THTG who split screen on three video projectors (3072x768), so I need good video card as well.My choice is : I7 980X - Asus Rampage II extreme - Msi Nvidia GeForce GTX480 (don't know if x2 SLI , not sure about better performance).What's your advice about RAM ? I think 6Gb is enough, but what brand and type is best on such system ?Curious to see your opinion.ciaomaurizio

Mushkin's 6GB 2000MHz C7 ram would be best. If you can find C6 or lower, go for it. Also, get a really good water cooling system (custom kit) and OC the crap outta your 980x. Best way to get performance. SLi will do nothing in FSX. However if you are running 3 screens, I would get 2 and just run from 2 from the HDMI and 1 from DVI

SLI with the GTX 4xx series seems to have no ill effect at least. For a TH2G I'd recommend a 2GB card. Gainward have made a good one, getting it myself. I'm using Mushkin Redline 1600mhz 6-8-6-24, I'm quite happy with them.

Get eVGA's GTX 480 SC

Unfortunately, Mushkin is not available on sale in Italy, and to buy at a foreign site is not economically advisable.so I think I must choose between Corsair and Kingston. (1800/2000 Mhz, depending on prices and availability)You confirm that SLI isn't advisable .But what about MoBo?I can't see the real differences between Rampage II extreme and P6X58D (except price, of course)Thank you .Ciaomaurizio

Get the P6X58D Premium mobo. Also get the corsair dominator GT 1600MHz C7 with the airflow fan.
