September 22, 201015 yr This is my first post on Avsim hoping that someone can help. For some reason, my Free Flight screen shows the aircraft as broken up and grayed out. I have deleting the fsx.cfg file with no result. Frankly, I just don`t know what to do other than uninstalling FSX.I am a member of the FTX forum but it seems no-one there has an answer.Hopefully, cannylad.

Some addons made for fs9 are not compatible with DX10. If it's a default aircraft or commercial addon for FSX, then I would recommend reinstalling that aircraft.Best regards,Jim

Every aircraft comes up dissembled and grayed out and if I select a flight and aircraft, the aircraft is jumbled up.Thanks for your interest.Cheers, Joe
September 23, 201015 yr Hi Cannylad, don't know if this will help you, but I had a very similar problem after trying Shader 3. At the time I wasn't sure what had caused the problem, and ended up doing a complete FSX re-install which fixed things. If you have played about with Shader 3, I would guess this is where your problem is. Sorry I can't help more.
September 23, 201015 yr If shader 3 is not your problem, what video card are you using, and is the driver up to date? Art

September 26, 201015 yr My video card is a Radeon HD 4850 with the latest driver 10.9.The things that come to my mind when the aircraft is displayed in 3D with the parts all jumbled up is a shortage of video memory or a driver problem. That's certainly an adequate video card, with adequate memory I suspect. The ATI/AMD drivers have had problems with FSX, but surely that's been taken care of by now. If it's just happening in the free flight window and not during flights, it would appear to more likely be a program issue. I assume shader 3 wasn't it? I have seen this in my simulator only near the end of long flights when memory began to run out. Now, with plenty of RAM and video memory, I havn't had the problem. Sorry to ramble on with no help. September 27, 201015 yr My video card is a Radeon HD 4850 with the latest driver 10.9.JoeI also got this problem with an install of the shaders download. Isolved this by forcing a re-compile of the shader modules so myguess is that this needs to be done for your card. Seethe large topic on *******'s shader mod - on the last page there isa description on forcing FSX to recompile the shaders.

Sorry to ramble on with no help.Art,The biggest problem is that the aircraft show up jumbled during the flight.I once had the same problem with the flight screen which was caused by a freeware aircraft from FS9. When I removed that the problem went away. I have not added any aircraft or scenery before this happened. Prior to all this FSX ran very smoothly.JoeI also got this problem with an install of the shaders download. I restored the files with no luck.Joe
