MD-11X - Windows 7 - Liveries

Featured Replies

Hi!I have a problem installling additional liveries to my MD-11X, when installing I'm getting error messeage "Aircraft.cfg not found. Please Reinstall your PMDG MD-11X before installing this livery."Additionaly, I'm getting error messeage when launching FSX "Scenery read error. Attempting to open a nonexistent directory : c:\program files (x86)\microsoft games\microsoft flight simulator x\texture", also, now i can't select MD-11X, it's just not on the list of planes. Is there any way to point the MD-11 installer to the aircraft.cfg file? Or to do anything? Uninstalling and reinstalling addon does not solve the problem with installing liveries.----I have just also noticed that installing additional liveries removes MD-11X from my FSX, the folder where MD-11X was installed is now empty.

Please contact PMDG with your purchase details via their email or the support system on their website. They will be able to help you. You might have to reinstall FSX along with the MD11 to solve your problem though.

To the assembled:I, too have a livery installation issue. Win 7/64 bit, FSX Gold, MD11 download from PMDG. The variants do not appear in the aircraft selection menu -- only the 4 defaults as PMDG aircraft: PMDG Pxr with GE or P&W, PMDG Freight with GE or P&W . (This may be a Microsoft issue but I thought I would try here.) - The liveries install without error messages. - There appear to be the appropriate aircraft.cfg entries for each livery added. - There appear to be the proper Texture.[livery] subdirectories with the appropriate files for each. - The simulation works properly with all default aircraft.Any ideas? Please shoot me an email in case I miss your suggestions. mailto:[email protected]/Bob

Bob,Do you have "Show all Variations" ticked in the aircraft selection dialogue box ? If you don't only the parent aircraft show up.CheersJulian E

Another problem may be "user account control".I've found that in some cases I have to turn it off from control panel,or the aircraft.cfg will not permit you to save additional texturesRon

Holiday Greetings!Julian nailed it. As I told him by email, these old, tired eyes missed the tick box. This was a reinstall and I completely forgot it was there. There's an old joke about getting older. First, you don't remember things. And I forgot what the other two things are. Thanks for the feedback.Cheers from 2NM north of KLGB
