October 5, 201015 yr Hi,I have just a short quick question about the wind. I use active sky evolution for the weather. I put in a route in ASE and it gives me wind component i. e. +22. Does that mean its head wind or tail wind? I always thought:+22 means the wind blows against you > so head wind-22 means the wind blwos with you > so tail windBut when i put in the md 11 fmc +22 it says me its TL22. So the wind component +22 in ASE means tail wind?Whats correct now? Thanks for any help,Nicolas Nicolas Reich
October 5, 201015 yr That's correct. A positive number will be a tail wind and a negative will be a head wind. ASE right now on my briefing page is giving me Avgs 181 @ 36 at -41.4 with a Wind component of +2. So in the FMS, I've entered -41/T2. Bob Donovan - KBOS
