Hi Chris...Yep, there sure does seem to be smoke with that fire. One thing is certain, on this issue; the citizens are not going to defer to the govt's conclusions without a challenge. It worked for Uncle Sammy before, "Sunshine Units" in the 50's and 60's with above ground nuclear testing in Nevada. The "Magic Bullet" theory in 63 with the Warren Report on the Kennedy Assassination. Times have changed. The world has changed. Our sources of information are too many and too easy to access for controversial issues such as these not to be challenged.As to why our govt. (and all govt's...do you think that your govt is not privy to these sort of "secrets"?) would wish to "skew the view" so to speak is open to conjecture, but one obvious reason would be the perceived crippling effect an affirmative to the shoot down of TWA800 would have on the Airline Industry.
