September 9, 200322 yr This shot shows the Wilkes Barre/Scranton area and the Susquehanna River. Is the river data flawed, or is this a landclass issue?Timhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/35932.jpg
September 9, 200322 yr This same effect occurs a little further south in Philadelphia. The Schuylkill River "stops" just north of Center City, and then "starts again" a little farther north. Very odd to say the least. The same thing happened in FS '02 as well.Joe Wagner
September 9, 200322 yr Commercial Member I don't know that area well, but I've seen something like it in other parts of the world. It looks as though the river doesn't really stop so much as it transitions from being a LWM polygon (which cuts out blocks of land and turns them into water) to a VTP Line, which draws smaller bodies of water like streams as graphics instead of making them actual water. In looking at your photo, I think I detect a thin line that is probably the river snaking through the middle of the city and connecting the two water polys... is that right? It's an academic question, but I'm curious. To answer your question, it's probably a data problem. Landclasses won't affect the placement of rivers because they operate independantly of the land, but perhaps there was bad width information for that stretch of the Susquehanna going through town.If it's really bugging you, there are ways to fix it using freeware scenery tools. The one that comes to mind in this case is a nifty little program called "Ground2k" that's available in the library here. It takes a little reading to learn what you're doing and how it'll affect the scenery, but once you learn the basics you can right the rivers 'til your heart's content. September 9, 200322 yr I agree- It does look like it turns into a stream in the center of town. I've seen this with other major rivers- including the Ohio :)Tim
September 9, 200322 yr Author This also happens around Harrisburg but at least it's included unlike another major Pa river, The Juniata, that I cannot locate. In FS98 I was able to follow the Juniata from where it flowed into the Susquehanna at Harrisburg NW to central PA but in FS2000-02-04 it is missing.
