September 10, 200322 yr Can anyone enlighten me...Using FS9 and all of the above the winds still make massive sheers, even with wind smoothing turned on. And, the viz jumps around from low to high, even though I have viz change smoothing turned on. Really, it seems that the FSUIPC has very little effect on external inputs, and is therefore not working properly. I have PAYED for the most up to date versions of everything. I know there have been issues, but what's the latest?Luke
September 10, 200322 yr I am having the problems with the winds which is really annoying. Also, whenever I set a destination weather, that weather never gets to the sim even though I update FSMeteo and I am landing at the destination airport. Not even the barometric pressure is correct not to mention the winds.I am going back to an earlier version of FSMeteo until I get a reply from Marc.
September 10, 200322 yr I was playing around with this last night and managed to make it a little less 'severe' by (in FSUIPC) deselecting 'allow gusts in uppder winds' & selecting 'suppress gusts'. In FSMeteo I changed Dynamics Level from zero to 1.One thing I can't understand: even with a destination set, the "decode destination" button is greyed-out until I actually arrive within the default 21nm zone.Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
September 10, 200322 yr Hi Luke,I have the same problem not just with FSMeteo but with FS2004's own real weather as well. FSUIPC is unable to smooth the wind changes as it affects global weather only. I have finally resorted to turning winds aloft off. Even if you do this and set the rate of weather changes in FS2004 to 0, you will start with no winds aloft but over time winds will develop on their own but they are usually light. There is more information on this at Pete Dowson's forum.Pesi
September 10, 200322 yr I have the same problem, thought maybe I had some setting wrong since I haven't seen any comments on it.First shot is sitting on the runway at LGSR, showing winds out of 348 at 20 knots:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36097.jpgWhich is what it shows in FS2004 weather menu:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36098.jpgYet, FSMeteo has winds from 200 at 10 knots, with overcast, thunder & rain:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36101.jpgI also refreshed the weather through FSMeteo several times, yet it doesn't register within FS2004. I'm also unable to decode the destination weather. Mike A.
September 10, 200322 yr According to these responses and several other comments I have heard, it would appear that FS Meteo and FSUIPC simply isn't doing what it is supposed to do, and what it is advertised as doing. As we have all payed for this software maybe someone from FS Meteo and/or Pete D. would like to add some comment here...?Recap... Viz smoothing, wind smoothing in FSUIPC doesn't do anything.... FS Meteo does not appear to be properly injecting weather into FS9. And, FS Meteo causes terrible stuttering on every PC when it updates WX stations. Luke
September 10, 200322 yr I've found I can get the destination Wx decode if I select "requested station" and enter the same airport ID as the destination (lol, if that makes any sense!)Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
September 10, 200322 yr I am getting absolute nonsense winds/temps aloft, similar to the ones in the screenshot above, for example: 400kts winds, positive temperatures at very high altitude. This is becoming quite waring, it's a payware product and as of yet I have not been able to use V6.X :-(Not good!
September 10, 200322 yr I have resorted to de-selecting "set destination" when I'm on 10NM final and letting FSMeteo set the destination weather by virtue of the fact that my destination is the closest station. However even that is not a perfect solution because when FSMeteo is updating the weather, while I'm on finals, my FPS drops and the sim stutters. Usually it takes quite a while to calm down. The last time I did it, I was on 3NM finals, and I had a slide show until I rolled off the active.Something's definitely wrong here cause I used FSMeteo V6.1 with FSUIPC V3.4 and I had no problems with changing winds aloft.
September 11, 200322 yr Author Marc philibert is working on v 6.4He is aware of all the issues mentioned above.I am sure he will have new version out very soon.Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:avsim.com/greece/hvacc]Hellenic vACChttp://vateud.org/images/vatsim-eurs.gifhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
