September 10, 200322 yr I haven't seen many folks mention this or post shots in the screenshots forum, so I wanted to share another reminder that Nick Botamer has released an excellent EMB-120 in recent weeks. Since his release, livery support has been growing as it does for all of his great work. It's unique among the tprops out there, in that it offers animated wing views...a great feature for an aircraft like the 120. Although it doesn't have a virtual cockpit, Bill G's great panel has been used by many of the 120's fans....Give it a look.... It's over at www.project-erj.com And sorry to those who already have this great aircraft... I've been seeing a lot of newcomers in here lately who I thought would benefit by seeing a reminder...-John
September 10, 200322 yr Author Thanks for the plug John. With over 30,000 downloads from the Project ERJ site since the release of the EMB-120s, I am pretty sure that quite a few people know about them. (All those download's can't be ERJs right? :))So, I've gotta ask, which one's your favorite. I spend most of my E120 time flying the old three stripe United Express.
September 11, 200322 yr I am actually a bigger fan of the Legacy ERJ, beautiful exterior! I tried the 120, but the lack of a VC, was the downfall for me, but a very nice looking, detailed aircraft !Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
September 11, 200322 yr Good to see you drop in Nick....Without a doubt, the Skywest is my favorite, and the UAL Express (old colors) is the runner up.... But I favor the Skywest for its overall reflections, and it's incredibly easy on the fps given my ancient system....One thing I didn't mention in my post was the FDE--excellent, in a word. I've flown a lot as a pax in the 120's, mostly on Skywest and UAL Express--and you tend to get a feel for the movement of the aircraft. As far as I can tell, the FDE seems right on in the way the aircraft handles....-John
September 11, 200322 yr Author Well, my test pilot (a former ASA E120 pilot) will appreciate the thanks. All I did was make it fly like he told me it should fly. :)
