September 17, 200322 yr Is anyone else have pitch control issues with the default Baron? This used to be my fav in FS2k2 (even better with the great airfile mod available). However, this latest default version, I swear, has somthing wrong somewhere. All my other planes fly smooth and I have a nice yoke to boot. The Baron and its excessive pitch rates and odd trim behavior make this the worst in the bunch IMO.Interesting that on a forum search I did not find anything about this, and I have reloaded the .air and config files direct from the CD to be sure. September 17, 200322 yr I flew the FS 2004 default Baron last night, for the first time. (I skipped it altogether in all previous Microsoft FS versions.)It definitely has an "owly" feeling to it. At first I chalked it up to my inexperience with the aircraft but after leaving it and going to the King Air, DC-3 et al, then back to the Baron, I now feel it is just a little to touchy for my tastes. But, I guess that's what makes horse races.Regards,DonaldS
October 2, 200322 yr IMO Microsoft didn't do a very good job on the feeling of the aircraft. In real life the Baron is a heavy stable aircraft and in the game it is way to sensitive, but you should expect this from a sim. Even the $19 Million sims at Flight Saftey are sensitive and take an hour to get used to.
October 2, 200322 yr I've been flying with Steve's .air and .cfg file in FS9 and as far as I'm concerned it works great. I just copied the files over from FS2002. I'm running the turbo version and my own custom panel.
October 2, 200322 yr Hi, Funny, I was just the other day playing around with the Baron's aircraft.cfg file for the same reasons as you. Try these settings in lieu of the default settings and see what you think. It is certainly better, I think, but might need some more tweaking.
