October 16, 201015 yr Hi.before i take it to the highly trained monkeys at the local PC shop to get it looked at, ill post here to see if there is an easy solution to this.ive been getting the Blue screen more frequently, so today, i took the case off and had a look...The Power Supply Unit fan doesnt turn, it shows no signs of trying, the CPU Heatsink fan hardly turns, its running at a really low RPM than usual, then, it stops turning after about 30 seconds, and 'pulses'...like tries to turn but with no success.Every thing works apart from those two fans, the system runs fine, it just shuts itself down when the PSU/CPU temperature gets criticalAnyone have any idea on whats going on here?any comments will be appreciated greatlyLiam OS: Windows 10 Home Premium 64Bit CPU: Intel i7 4790K Quad @ 4.4GHz MoBo: ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer GPU: nVidea/Gigabyte GTX980 RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair 1600C9 Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz PSU: Seasonic X-650 80+ Gold Monitor: ASUS VG248QE 1920x1080, 144Hz, 1ms

And I'd say that you should just change the PSU.
October 16, 201015 yr Author Well then make sure your CPU heatsink is plugged in properly and the wire isn't loose. October 16, 201015 yr is your PC custom built or from a store. When it boots up and is doing the POST press and hold F2 tell me if you can get there.
October 17, 201015 yr Before you try anything else, try replacing the power supply and the fans. It sounds as though you may have burned the fans out and if that's so, then you'll be hitting peak temperatures and the system will shut down to protect itself. Something similar happened to me when I first did my build - I tried to run six fans off the motheborad and it couldn't hand the load. The result was that the fans died. I replaced them and connected the new ones to a fan controller that I installed in one of the external drive bays. Everything has been fine since then - running smoothly for 18 months. The problem could be somewhere else but I'd look at the fans first.Hope this helps.Best,Alan Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
