October 17, 201015 yr Well when you think you are really getting good as a Captain, the higher power says NO YOU ARE NOT. I have over 500 hours in the LDS 767 and I have some close ones, but not a crash. Well last night coming into Miami and on my cell phone with a friend, I let my airspeed bleed well below stall speed and I bellied up my 767 about a half mile from the end of runway 30. I was so unhappy that I did not sleep well last night. :( I flew the flight again today and had a good flight and a good landing :( g , still got to get with the HIFi guys about destination winds, but that is another topic. When I crash B) hed , I use to have in days past the bam boom effects, this time all I had was some ugly view of my 767 in a non-recoverable angle Not that I plan ever to crash again, but is there a better effect file in FSX for a crash? If that ever happens again I would sure like to see a big explosion :( I am so embarresedBob

I'm tempted to say you're taking it far too seriously if you're fretting about it in bed, but then I remember many years ago I went through a period actually REALLY WORRYING about not being able to land the Bf 109 in IL-2 Sturmovik. My God, they must have been carefree days... :Silly:As for crash effects, I believe it was a decision by MS to deliberately make these non-spectacular.Happy landings!! :( Ian

Once the sterile cockpit light is illuminated there is to be no conversation unless it is flight related. Sir, you have admitted before witnesses that your conversation on your cell-phone caused the crash of your flight on approach to Miami and this transcript will be forwarded to the NTSB for further investigation. Until then you are hereby removed from active flight duty and are summarily notified of your immediate and indefinate suspension. Furthermore you are forthwith notified to turn in your company ID card and airport access credentials until such time as an official inquiry can be convened. You will be notified of, and are expected to attend and cooperate with, all NTSB, FAA and corporate crash inquiries.
