September 23, 200322 yr I would love to see the Grumman rebuilt or upgraded for FS2004. I've used the one that Heather repainted so beautifully (sorry I can't remember the creator of the model). We only had an upgraded FS98 panel for it though. Would love to see it made from scratch for FS2004. Any takers?Randall
September 23, 200322 yr I second that!! The original is by Mike Stone, but he didn't model a VC (heaven forbid I email and ask nicely for one! LOL), which is why I don't fly it, but it is a great aircraft (and Heather's paint is sweet!). I know Rey Lopez made one, but from the pics I have seen the visual model isn't as nice as the Stone one. Seeing as it takes a great deal of time to complete a detailed model, only time will tell!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
September 23, 200322 yr I'll third that! The Grumman Goose is one of my favorite planes. A VC would also be great.
September 24, 200322 yr Howdy,Well, if someone could provide me with a clear, large format, full-colour panel photo, I could be persuaded to upgrade that particular aspect.VC? Hmmmm. Don't really use them, meself, but it needs to be built into the model. Know that Bill Lyons was intending to do a Goose (for 2K2) but Mike's model came out, and that was all she wrote.
September 24, 200322 yr A VC would be great but I'd take a FS2004 upgrade of the 2d panel anytime. Thanks for your willingness to take on the project. I bet Heather has what you need. Heather are you out there?! I'll look around the web when I get a chance.Randall
September 24, 200322 yr I don't know if this could possibly be of help, but I found this on the net:http://www.gooseforsale.com/photos.aspClick through the photos as there are a number of closeups of the panels.
September 24, 200322 yr Howdy,Thanks for the link, Randall; yep, great site. Downloaded those half dozen .mpgs some time ago and still get a kick out of re-running them. Unfortunately, photos are not the greatest for creating a photo-real panel, but I'd redesigned my panel some time ago using the instrumentation configuration.Just out of idle curiosity, what is it about the re-worked FS98 Goose panel that you do not like (other, of course, than the 'mask' around the throttles)? Feedback is always welcome.TIA
September 25, 200322 yr First, let me say thank you for your original contribution of this panel. The panel was very functional in FS2002 and I enjoyed using it. However, in FS2004 I'm experiencing some problems with a couple of gauges. These probably could be substituted in the panel.cfg but I haven't messed with it yet. Also, some of the windows (overhead, etc.) are not working properly. Lastly, the panel has that FS98 look--kind of cartoony. With FS2004, I guess I'm ready for a little more realism.Let me know if I could be of any help should you decide to revise this panel. Thanks again.Randall
September 25, 200322 yr It works fine for me in FS9, but I've got a Canadair 215 panel in mine for the time being (pending nicer, of course). Tweaked .CFG for it if you want one: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lizardo/
September 26, 200322 yr Howdy Randall,Thanks for the offer. What gauges are not working properly? The windows (overhead, et al.) problem can be fixed kinda easily. Send me a copy of your panel.cfg file (to: [email protected]) and I'll have a look see (but, please, don't expect a reply until Tuesday/Wednesday next week, I'm off down south with the SO for a well-deserved break).
