Well first thing I would check is the resolution of your screen... I doubt you're running a 17 in 1024*768... Start by changing that to your optimal monitor resolution. Be sure your OS is running at the correct res as well...Cheers,

Nick is the guru.. but an additional item for quad processors is to move the main FSX load off Core 0 for smoother flight.Try adding this to your fsx.cfg file:[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14It works well on my Intel Quad. Try it, and if you do not like it, you can remove it again.. :(

FSX is more demanding on the CPU than the GPU so, yes, overclocking the CPU is pretty much a requirement but be careful as I have seen a lot of CTD's when too much stress is placed on the system by overclocking too much. If you can overclock via the BIOS like I can on my Dell, then that's probably the safest. I overclocked mine past 3.7GHz once and the system became very unstable. You can get suggestions for overclocking in the AVSIM overclocking forum but your best bet is to get the guidance of the manufacturer of your system and overclock as high as you can go safely. I would hold off any attempts at overclocking the GPU right now and wait until any overclocking of the CPU is completed. There's also a FS Tips and Tricks subforum to this forum here on AVSIM and that forum contains many other tweaks that work well for some but not necessarily good for others.Best regards,Jim
