ADDING ILS

Featured Replies

Can someone either tell me how, or help me add an ILS to runway 8R at PHNL in FS2002?ThanksRick Wooton

I'm pretty sure, that with a program called AFCAD by Lee Swordy(freeware, availavble here at avsim) It can be done. I have never tried it myself. In real life the reef runway is used as the departure runway.

To fully implement an ils you'll have to perform two separate tasks:Easynavs is a good tool that you can use to add the actual ils that your aircraft can pick up. Then with AFCAD you can add the same ils to the fs facility data so it shows up in the gps and map. It WILL work wothout step 2 mind you.regards,Mark

I have done that for an airport and I have also modified some wrong ILS implementations (in FS2002).I follow this procedure:a) With AFCAD I create the the Localizer and the Glideslope at the right locations in relation to the runway (the localizer at the far end of the rwy, the GS at the threshold). Then I take note of the resulting co-ordinates.:( With Easynavs I create the localizer (you have to decide for a name and frequency) and the GS (with DME, if required). After creating the new .bgl file you will only have to replace it in the directory.Good luck!

Has anybody tried using Easynavs in FS2004????Ed Weber a.k.a tallpilot

No! You are right, I have been providing information that was correct for FS2K2, but which I did not test yet in FS2004.I intend to install an ILS in the Alverca runway, near Lisbon, next weekend, as I had done before in FS2K2.I will report the result in this same thread.Regards,

That brings up another question I've had...At KCOS, the ILS for rwy 35L is there and it does work, AND it does show up in AFCAD. But it's not in the facility list, and doesn't show on the GPS or map. Anyone know why?
