October 1, 200322 yr Hello fellow simmers,Unfortunately, the 412 Golden Eagle is not ready yet for FS2004 (there was some rumor on a temporary patch! Anyone knows?).In the meantime, can anyone recommend on a good FREEWARE twin for FS2004? Thanks,Shay
October 1, 200322 yr If you manually move all the 421 files over to FS9, it works great, except for the idle which tends to die on you, but knowing that I have always keep it up on start up and haven't really had a problem with it. There was a fix to change the idle speed in the cfg, but that hasn't worked for me.the Aero Commander series are very detailed and pretty cool twins for free! There are (were) 2 King Air B200s in the works, but it has been forever and neither site has been updated in awhile, so I wouldn't hold my breath!I suggest going to FSD and getting either the Seneca or the Cheyenne, they both are awesome in FS9, but payware!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
October 1, 200322 yr Somewhere, there's a nice FSDS 2 freeware C310 floating around.... Also, there was a recent freeware 402 release. I'm somewhat partial to the C310--it's a nice aircraft and one of my personal favorites. If I can find a link, I'll follow up and post it here...-John
October 1, 200322 yr Here's a link for the Cessna 310 I mentioned....http://www.aircraftdesignstudios.com/C310.htm
October 1, 200322 yr Michael,Thanks for the info.I've downloaded the Commander and I will test it tonight.Though, I'm very interesting of trying the 421 in FS2004. Can you detailed the moving of the files to the FS2004 folders? As far I remember, It has auto install in FS2002 so I dont know where went all it's files. Many thanks,Shay
October 1, 200322 yr That 310 didn't do much for me, terrible VC. Chuck Dome has a few aircraft out, but they are extremely basic. On the 421, you will see all the 421 files in the main FS folder (5), then the aircraft itself and then a 421 DLL. You will need to change the GPS reference to the FS9 one in the panel cfg, you should be good then.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
October 2, 200322 yr There is a fix for the 421 at www.flightsim.com which lets it work OK in FS2004. (It may be in the library here at Avsim, too, I don't know). Actually, there may be two files---one puts the FS2004 GPS in, and one tells you how to edit the aircraft.cfg file to cure the engines dying problem. (Or maybe the idle adjustment was posted here in the forums quite some time ago). Anyway, the F1 C421 works pretty well in FS2004 with these edits/fixes.Darrell
October 2, 200322 yr Michael,I've found the five folders in the main FS folder ant then the aircraft folder itself under "Aircrafts". i'm not sure where is the 421 DLL file and what do I need to change with regard to the GPS in the Panel cfg file. Thanks a lot for the help,Shay
October 7, 200322 yr Just found this now:421_fs9_fix.zipGoing to check it in the evening. Did anyone encountered any problems with that temp. fix?Shay
October 7, 200322 yr I'd highly recommend Milton Shupe's Aero Commander series--520, 560, and 680 Super, each with multiple paintjobs and working VCs (or not, if you choose). They're available here in the FS2004 library. Lewis "Moose" Gregory Durham, North Carolina
October 8, 200322 yr Nice aircraft, no checklist (last time I looked). Anyone know where I can get one?---Carrier Landing: the most fun you can have with your pants on.
October 8, 200322 yr No checklist is correct. Never could get my hands on what I thought was an proper one. However, all the important vspeeds are included in the documentation package.Milton
