If you have multiple monitors and don't use them all for FSX, it can be adventageous to run in windowed mode so when you bring focus to another window (like a map or text file open for reference you need to scroll or edit) FSX will not minimize, although sound will cut out (wish there was a way around that issue too).I personally have not noticed a performance difference with Windowed vs. Fullscreen. You just have to get used to the title bar up top.
