New IFly 747 Questions + POSKY Merge

Featured Replies

Hi All, Just noticed this IFly forum... I posted previously on FlightSim - no responses - maybe someone here can help me... I've been trying to master the IFly 747-400 Posky merge... I don't normally play around with heavy metal - but - I have messed around with the ISGSim FMC's and such... I have managed to get a Flight Plan loaded via FSBuild and I did get LNAV to engage at one point... I really didn't change anything - I don't think - but - I can't seem to get LNAV to engage anymore... What are the prerequisites that have to be met in order to engage LNAV... My waypoints don't seem to be sequencing either... I spent hours last night trying to get this to work... Also had the same question as Till in the other post... No Course bug - how do you set the course ??? Any 747 captains care to give a newb a point in the right direction ??? This sure seems like an excellent freeware setup - I'd like to see it work... Here is the procedure I followed to do the Merge...

Directions: (you need to have downloaded the latest iFly information from flightsim.com or avsim and the latest FDE from POSKY.) Please start with a fresh install of the aircraft. and then follow these directions.1)rename the posky panel.cfg to something else like panel_old.cfg2)copy and paste the iFly panel files from the ilfy panel folder (NOT THE iFly PANEL VC FOLDER) and paste into the posky panel foler3)open panel_old.cfg in notepad and copy the [VCockpit03] section and paste into the new panel.cfg that was just pasted into the panel folder4)open the aircraft.cfg in notepad and scroll down to the [airplane_geometry] section and find the category ELEVATOR TRIM LIMIT = 245)change the ELEVATOR TRIM LIMIT = 24 to ELEVATOR TRIM LIMIT = 10.6)Go to the [Fuel] section and change the fuel selector number from 1 to 47)check the original iFly POSKY merge thread for any issues (at this time im not sure how to implement the POSKY Utility due to the number of windows but if you figure out how let me know!)8)read the iFly manual, ALL OF THE MANUAL! Every page period. If you do not read the manual you will have problems.
Oh - sorry - one more question...It seems the fuel weight is given in Kg - is there a way to change it to Lbs ???Summary of my IFly questions...1) Prerequisites to get LNAV and VNAV to engage...2) Course bug adjustments...3) Kg to Lbs for Fuel Weight...4) How to set Pitot Heat to always on - without a gauge...Any tutorials on how to fly the IFly 747 ???The manual - while comprehensive doesn't seem to explain how to use everything...Thanks folks...Regards,Scott

Hi,I too merged the POSKY and iFly 744's without a problem for the most part. I too cannot get LNAV & VNAV to engage sometimes and in fact, sometimes I am unable to get the A/P to engage at all. I did the exact same things as you, and the airplane works fantastically. It seems that the iFly panel does not like the POSKY model. The folks over at iFly are very willing to help you, however they might not be able to because you have a merged plane and they usually do not support mergers.
