  1. ahh! It appears to have been some firewall issues on my network. All is well now, but thank you very much.
  2. I think the loud bang means that you hit the tail, A.K.A you just had a tail strike which may also explain why you can't move the tail anywhere. Perhaps try rotating slower and that should prevent a tail strike.
  3. Hi everyone, I am new to VATSIM, and I just downloaded squawkbox4. I am able to connect to servers and squawkbox4 says that I am connected and I can hear communication properly and I can also speak. However, I am unable to see any VATSIM traffic, and I can only see AI traffic. I know for sure that there are planes and controllers at the airport that I am at as I heard ground communication for that airport(KMEM). What am I doing wrong? I can't seem to find a proper answer anywhere? My procedure for connecting: 1.Start FSX 2. Select planes and yadayadaya 3. Click connect on SB4, wait for connection established message 4. click Fly now on FSX
  4. thanks for the replies, and I did try it out and it shows, except like Roman says, it does not function. I will look into a panel editor program though.~Carl
  5. Hi, I was wondering how do you place gauges into other panels. For example, I want to place the iFly 747 FMC into a 737 panel that I have. I tried to copy the lines for window 7 (FMC panel) on the iFly 747 panel.cfg and pasted them into my 737 panel.cfg, but to no avail. I am aware that merging gauges is possible, but what is the correct way? Oh, and this is strictly for my personal use, I have no intent to upload this to a flightsim website so do not tell me that this is illegal and rude, I am doing this ONLY FOR ME.
  6. Hi,I too merged the POSKY and iFly 744's without a problem for the most part. I too cannot get LNAV & VNAV to engage sometimes and in fact, sometimes I am unable to get the A/P to engage at all. I did the exact same things as you, and the airplane works fantastically. It seems that the iFly panel does not like the POSKY model. The folks over at iFly are very willing to help you, however they might not be able to because you have a merged plane and they usually do not support mergers.
  7. Hi, I must say that the iFly 744 is a fantastic bird, however it seems that sometimes the values in the MCP windows will not change. THe autopilot will not engage either. However, when this happens, everything else still works without problems. I don't believe that this is an FSUIPC problem as I have FSUIPC 4. (unregistered) Anyone else having this problem? ~Carl
  8. Strange........I tried to add on some scenery into my FSX only to find that my addon scenery folder is missing. So, well, I created the folder myself and the add on scenery displays correctly. However, the PMDG MD-11 no longer loads correctly as in the "loading airac database...." no longer shows up causing a messed up MD-11 when playing (screens black, yoke is turned sideways, no buttons are clickable and the initializing countdown won't appear) I have read that this has happened before with PMDG MD-11's but I have been unable to find a fix. What is going on as I would hate to have to reinstall the MD-11. ~Carl
  9. Ahh...that site...unfortunately has shut down.I do believe I saw a user post a PDF version of the tutorial on the old POSKY forums, so go and check the POSKY archives @ FSPro. But don't ask a mod for help!
  10. Thank you all!And yes, the N2 needle is not moving at all. I tested it to see if it was just slower than usual, but after 5 minutes, you hear the starter reigniting constantly and the N2 needle remains at zero. I always manually start the aircraft (no CTRl+E). And yes, I do make sure that IGN A is on. Should I try IGN B? Even when i tried CTRL+E, it still failed to start. But this only happens every 1/7 times I fly this airplane. Most likely it is time acceleration that is causing this then. But I am still wondering why I was not able to regain control of the aircraft manually? Well, thank you all for your replies! Gotta love this forum!~Carl
  11. Thanks for the quick reply! As for the engine problem, i have checked that the APU is on, however I am completely new to this, so I have tried some 'Boeing' methods. I make sure that the APU is on 9 (the green ON light is present), and I am quite sure that it is on because the APU bleed air is on. Isolation valves are also on( Is there an APU isolation valve, or is that a Boeing thing?) Pack #2 does go on as well, so the APU is on I believe and ignition A is armed indeed (the packs go off)As for the out of control problem, I am not sure how to fix the CG error as i used the 'use actual (value)' option on the FMC fuel init. page. Or are these so called actual values false?Thank you for your help...~Carl
  12. I had this problem too, but I found that if I went direct to GIPOL, it would descend to the correct altitude......Otherwise it would descend at a rate of approx. 400fpm
  13. Hi, I am using the PMDG MD-11 in FSX Deluxe SP1 w/ Win. 7, and it is a fantastic aircraft! It works normally (most of the time). But there are two problems.....1. Engine won't always startIf i pull the starter plug, the light will come on and on the EICAS you will get an N2 reading and you will hear the starter engage, but the N2 reading will stay at 0, and will not move. Now this only happens ocassionally, mostly when i start from a cold and dark setup. However, this even happens when i use other panel states such as 'long turn'. What is wrong? Not that it is something that will make me remove this fantastic bird, but it is somewhat annoying.2. The airplane goes out of control midflight This only seems to happen when I use time acceleration....For example, one time I was flying KMEM-KLAX and it was flying well without any problems for about 2 hours, (and I had used time acceleration earlier) then I felt hungry and decided to eat lunch. So i set the aircraft to normal time speed and then decided to set the speed to 1/2 speed to make sure that by the time i finished lunch it would still be at the correct altitude. Well, after i finished my lunch, i checked on the airplane only to find that it was spinning out of control, going from 60 deg. nose up to 60 deg. nose down in about 2 seconds and was banking left erratically. It then proceeded to give me flap speed errors (my flaps were not deployed), and would not go back to normal flight no matter what I did. So i disconnected the A/P and tried to regain control, but my inputs did not cause the aircraft to budge from its course. I checked the configuration page and the flight controls stopped working.......This has never happened to me before. I have experienced some fatal errors when using time acceleration as well, so is this problem caused by time acceleration?-Oh and on the EICAS there was a CG OUT OF RANGE, but it had been showing after I took off, so I don't believe this is the problem. This is for sure not caused by my PC either because my system specs are what PMDG has listed as 'recommended specs'~Core i3, 4 gb RAM....etc.Or is this because of Windows 7 as I understand that FSX Deluxe and WIn. 7 don't get along very well....I would really hate to have to remove this fantastic bird...I am new here, so sorry if this has been answered before, but I tried and couldn't find an answer here. Thanks in advance! ~Carl
