October 7, 200322 yr Hi everybody. I've got a problem that's been bugging me since I installed FS9. You all know that in the FS 9 it is now possible to use the buttons on the 3D panel. So at the beginning I thought to myself that I'm going to fly in the VC only. But then I realized that the VC quality is really, really ugly and bad when you take a look around; e.g. the overhead panels, the textures around the panels, the console around the thrust levers, etc. I already checked the display settings and made sure that the display quality of the VC is on "high". (my PC: 1.8 Ghz, 512 MB SD RAM, Geforce 3 64 MB)I'm really upset about not-enjoying the VC. Please help me!!Thanks a lot.
October 7, 200322 yr Author Who's panels are you speaking about? In general, removing the MIP MAPS from the VCs using ImageTool will clear them up considerably.-Todd
October 8, 200322 yr If you're talking about the default airliners, yes they are ugly. But I guess MS made them that way so that people with not-so-hitech systems could "enjoy" them too..
October 8, 200322 yr I thought the same as you when I used the default settings. You need to set the vc quality to 'massive' - I think this uses 1024 textures rather than 512.Give it a try. You'll probably lose some fps, but the quality of the vc without it is unusable.
October 8, 200322 yr Hi Armen,Make sure your world global textures are set to massive or all the way to the right. I had blurry textures in the VC for the last couple of months until I tried this. October 8, 200322 yr Yeah Boone, u were right!By changing the global textures to "massive" the VC qulaity became a lot better (though it's still not "pretty", but who cares). Thanks to you and everyone else who tried helping me!
