August 12, 200223 yr [http://www.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cc5d15671f44040.jpg] How much space is FS2002 taking up on your hard drives?I was cleaning up mine today and thought I'd take a look to see why other than FS is there 8 gigs of crap on my 10GB HD.Turns out FS is half that.Things installed in FS;FS Nav767 PICDreamfleet Cessna 421 and Piper ArcherLago's FSSEA ton of default repaints for AI useA ton of aircraft of all typesTons of panels and soundsand a ton of unused gauges that none of the uninstallers will remove (I keep getting runtime error 5 with gaugescan and wipe gauge?)As you can see from the screenshot, I've never had to reinstall this version of FS and these add-ons really start to take over your HD over time.CF-AOA
August 12, 200223 yr I think I have you beat by a little bit, but am sure there are others out there that make mine look paltry by comparison.
August 12, 200223 yr [http://www.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cc5d15671f44040.jpg] That's pretty big Tom. Mostly my installation is composed of aircraft, panels, and sound. I don't really have alot of scenery installed as the nicer stuff kills my frames. Even the default KSEA and KSFO kill me.So who has the largest FS installation?CF-AOA

August 13, 200223 yr Holy Schmokes.I guess I gotta do some cleaning:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d58cb6d4f05c188.gifFunny actually. I've been in a nastalgic mood lately, so I've got some oldie but goodie games installed like Master of Orion (the first). Takes up all of 2.4 megs - and is a hell of a game. Ahhh, progress eh?http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
August 13, 200223 yr Hi Rob,Ouch... It looks like you are using Fat32 on a very large partition. You are wasting 16.3 percent(!) of your drive space (2,222 megs wasted to store 11,415 megs of files) just for FS2002.You might want to think about moving to NTFS. As you can see in my screenshot, I'm only wasting 0.06 percent drive space (14 megs wasted to store 22,483 megs of files) with NTFS.Take care,http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
August 13, 200223 yr Last time I checked it was around 8GB total, but that was several months ago and it's probably grown since then. So guess between 8 and 9 Gigabyte. Not too much, given that there is also 20GB of digitised photos on the machine :-)
