October 8, 200322 yr Hi All,The long wait is over for the latest Radeon drivers and with the release will come issues associated with installing new drivers. Don't let a botched install ruin your simming action :-)If there's one thing I can suggest is to follow the procedures outlined in the following thread on un-installing and installing ATI Drivers:Radeon Uninstall/install GuideI have this post printed and inserted in a binder for safe keeping!! Good luck on the install!!!Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
October 8, 200322 yr There's a new utility that does it all for you.http://www.ascully.com/modules.php?name=Re...wcontent&id=289
October 9, 200322 yr FANTASTIC!!!! Thanks for that link but, from the blurb about it, it says that you run the exe first before installing the drivers but.....I can't, for the life of me, find that utility!? I went through the ATI site and nada... If/when they release it, great, till then, we still have to do it manually I guess.Mikehttp://www.members.shaw.ca/madamo/boeingsig.jpg
October 9, 200322 yr ________________________________...this made it into the release...________________________________The way I read that is that it sounds like this utility is a part of the driver suite??
October 9, 200322 yr Yes, they put in a new "program" called the ATI Uninstall Utility. This is new for 3.8, though, so unless and until you need to uninstall 3.8, it won't help. I.e. can't uninstall 3.7 with it.sj
October 9, 200322 yr Author I usually run a search for ati*.* then delete all the files that come up. Delete the ATI folders and ATI entries from the registry.Easiest way for me to do it. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
