Cat 3.8's has fixed menu flickering for me

Featured Replies

Hi all,I know many of you will find this hard to believe (and I have waited a couple of days to post this so I can exhaustively test the new drivers) but the new catalyst 3.8 ATI drivers have fixed the flashing menu's AND corrupted text in Fs2004 when switching to full screen mode.I am running in 1600x1200x32 resolution and whereas previously I had the same flashing as everyone else, now it is perfect. I have not tried them at lower resolutions as I exclusively fly in this resolution on a 21" monitor. I have an ATI 9800 Pro card with 256 Mb and with the AA and AF turned up at 1600x1200x32 Fs2004 is a work of art.I have also noticed the following with these drivers:1. Image quality and colours are improved.2. It maintains my locked rate of 25fps much better than than the 3.7 drivers with the same settings3. Major improvement when switching views from 2D cockpit. All in all I am very happy with this release and extremely happy with my 9800 Pro.As always your mileage may vary.

Hi,I run my 9800pro at 1280x1024 and I get the black flashes, but less than before, the text corruption gone.Switching views looks better.Ulisses

Mine has also improved. No more text corruption and switching viewscut down flashing to maybe 2-3%.Gerry

Can you post your full system specs? I'm curious if this is the "Intel-only" fix that was touted a while back. Also, I'd very much like to replicate your success if I can!thanks,
