Hello there flyers,Just like to know how you people setup views using 3 monitors. Would you strech the view over 3 monitors or have 1 view on each monitor.What would the performance be for each and could you give me a reason way you do it that way.I'm asking because i moving from 2 to 3 monitior as soon as i get my new graphics card.Thanks,Dave...

Hi Dave,I have a three monitor setup that I use for the Level-D 767-300 aircraft. I have two EVGA 480 graphic boards that run three Samsung T260 HD monitors at a resolution of 5760x1200x32. I run the two boards via SLI/Surround setting.I run the Level-D aircraft via André Folkers Virtual Cockpit that spans all three monitors. I really can't complain about performance, I get upper 20's fps at FSDT's KJFK airport.

I've got four monitors hooked up to dual GTX 280s - I use three for VC views and the fourth for various 2D panels. When I load my flight I have to set up three separate VC views and drag them to the other monitors although I've saved a flight with the VC views already open but I still have to resize them and drag them to the other monitors. When the VC views are in place I rotate them until all the bits line up and I've got a keypress for the Link Views (toggle) command you'll find in the Assign Buttons and Keys dialogue. This means that when I pan my VC view all the views will pan together.As for performance each view you add will degrade your frame rates so you'll need a reasonable CPU. I've got an i7 940 at the factory rate of 2.93 GHz because I live in a warm climate and so overclocking is just impractical. Even so with the three views and the PMDG 747 (which is my biggest frame rate hog) I get about 12 - 13 FPS on final on moderate settings.You'll love having a greater than 180 degree view - man it's like driving a bus. I'm hooked and I'll never go back to having a single graphics card.

I use WidevieW for five monitors on four separate systems. You can pick up P4 3.0Ghz computers dirt cheap now. Pop in a $40 video card and you're in business.
