AFCAD and EasyNavs in FS9

Featured Replies

In FS2k2 I was able to use AFCAD, together with EasyNavs, to correct some Navaids (such as Genoa, Nice C

The new AFCAD 2 will be out sometime this month, so patience is the keyword here :)

Thank you for your reply! In FS2k2 both AFCAD and EasyNavs were required to install or modify navaids. Will it be the same in FS9, or will AFCAD 2 alone do the job?Best Regards,

I can honestly say I have no idea i have never changed any kind of navaids only used updated SID/STARS via FSNavigator, sorry :)

I've tried to use Easy Nav as well. I found where MS put the NAVAIDS (generic.bgl) but Easynav reports that it's a compressed library and tells me to de-compress and then extract the database.I don't have a clue what it's talking about. It's not a compressed/zip file. Any idea's? Otherwise, we have to email Herve' direct about it.BobL

Are all the navaids in "generic.bgl"? In FS2k2 there were separate files for the different regions of the world, and moreover, the information was distributed over two different files: one to be accessed with AFCAD and the other with EasyNavs.I have right now sent an email to Herv

(I have repeated the message by mistake)

Well, I'm not really sure. In FS2002, Easynav was looking for a vor.bgl. I can't find that in 2004. Easynav did make the attempt to open the generic. It confirmed that it did have VOR data in it but it's in a compressed format. And I don't have a clue how to un-compress it since it's not a zip type file. If someone know how to de-compress a BGL, Easynav may work fine. Don't knowBe sure and post here if you get a response from Herve'.ThxBobL
