October 18, 200322 yr Videocard :ASUS,GeForce FX 5200Hi,How do i install new drivers for my graphic card? The best NVIDIA drivers for FS2004 are? Thanks.
October 19, 200322 yr Author Did you get a driver cd with your card? If yes, put it in your cd drive and follow the instructions. BE SURE TO DISABLE ANY ANTI-virus SOFTWARE RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND.If you did not get a cd, then go to nvidia.com and download the latest driver for your card. These drivers have a "setup" icon inside the folder that you double-click, and then follow instructions. The best driver I have found for the FX cards is the flicker-free 45.33 found at guru3d.com. Is also has a "setup" installer.BE SURE TO DISABLE ANY ANTI-virus SOFTWARE RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND.I think the nvidia website also has a page on installing drivers. October 19, 200322 yr A question I've always wondered.... To all the driver swappers out there. On a manual install, must you first uninstall any current driver first, and does that card then still provide video on a reboot (if that happens) to install the new driver.Luckily, I've never had to change mine yet. But a new machine may be in the works.Bob (Lecanto, Fl)
October 23, 200322 yr Author Yes, there is a video driver retained -- it may be the default VGA driver. You may get a message warning you about video problems, but just go ahead and install the new driver. The new nVidia 52.16 WHQL driver (nvidia.com or guru3d.com) is pretty good -- if you have an nvidia-based card, I would recommend an update.Be sure to disable any anti-virus programs running.
