October 18, 200322 yr I've just purchased a Nvidia FX5900. When I look at its properties it is showing:Bus: AGP (PCI mode). My motherboard is definitaly 8x AGP compliant.I have looked at the BIOS settings for the motherboard but there is nowhere to select either 4x or 8x. I guess it does it automatically. Is AGP (PCI mode) normal?Best wishes,Darren
October 19, 200322 yr I would check three things in this order; MOBO Controller Chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi - install/reinstall updated drivers; Graphics adapter driver - update; DirectX9.0b - update. After you have installed the above, test using directx diagnostic - Press Start, Run..., type dxdiag, OK.W. October 19, 200322 yr In my bios, which is very latest ASUS bios from very latest ASUS mobo, has either agp/pci or pci/agp settings. You have to pic either one. So I don't think this particular setting is for agp 4x or 8x etc.
October 19, 200322 yr Author So since I also have an agp card it my device manager says PCI bus and AGP Slot I'm ok hu???Capt.Mac
