Help! I know all the older versions of addon manager were free, but now when I try to install one, I get a message saying it's an old version and won't let me install it. I downloaded the newer version 3.14 and it works fine but limited as it is now shareware. Does anyone have a serial or key for the 314 version or tell me how to install the older versions. Thankyou so much. I am new to this and love it.

Exactly what Addon Manager is it that you are referring to? (A link to it would be helpful).Asking anyone to share a serial number or key is a big no-no. That implies that you are willing to illegally use programs that require a fee (registration) to make them work.As you are new to all this, I am sure some slack should be granted - but in the future please refrain from seeking that sort of assistance and do what the rest of us do - pay for whatever you want to use.

That being the case or not begs the question, why is it still available on Avisim and other sites too? This is just a question and does not imply that I am looking for e free-bee at someone elses expense mind. Some while ago I read that a software program was being given away and the person who did that had he said tried hard to contact the author with so suscess.and ended up assumiming that the author maybe had passed on so it would be okay to do what he did. So exactly where in fact is the line drawn??.......................John

You still have not told us what Addon Manager you are referring to - there are several under that generic name.With that info we may be able to give you a better answer.

I did a little more searching - if you are referring to the FS2004 Addon Manager by Manfred Murer. I could not find it on the Avsim site.A few other sites do have it and you would have to ask them why they still carry a payware program which cannot be registered.The fact remains that you did request someone to share a key or serial number - and that was wrong, no matter what the intent.As an alternative try this excellent utility:http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=fsm285.zip&CatID=root&Go=SearchYou will also need the date patch from Flightsim (fsmgr.zip) in order for it to work now as it has a built in expiration date.This program will do everything (and perhaps more) than the one you were seeking.

Hello DavidI asked for help re the 3.14 version of FlightSim Manager v 3.14 about a week ago and below you will find the thread. David I never asked anyone to share a key and rest assured I never will. I still have the 285 version with the patch and it works well but the 3,14 version is better still. I've always like how easy it was to switch aircraft components and the nice big screenshots of panels, planes , liveries, showing your different configurations. I was a beta tester years ago. I wanted to obtain the code from Manfred when his health and personal issues forced him out of the hobby. But alas, I could not track him down after many attempts. It still is a great peice for software. Sorry David, I was not implying that I wanted it for free. I wanted the freeware ones, Flight Sim Manager V 2.80 and v 2.85. They are the ones that won't install. Thanks

Version 2.80 or ver. 2.85 Flight Sim Manager. Version 3.4 is shareware but can't find where to register it.Gary
