Others who have received the g3d.dll error have resolved it by doing a clean install of the video card drivers. Whenever you install/upgrade drivers, make sure any anti-virus or UAC is disabled (Windows Security). These programs sometimes will not make the proper registry entries or install a driver properly if you have the security set too high.
