Headphones & Flight Sim

For my Hi Fi I have a 30 year old pair of Koss K6 headphones which I still like and have a 1/4 stereo jack plug.My Teac Stereo & sub computer sound system has a very small jack socket of the size used for walkman. If I wish to use my K6 with my computer instead of the horrible little ear pieces that I have been using which simply don't do justice to a large jet engine!!!!!:1. Will it work OK if I just make an adaptod cable with a 1/4 stereo socket on one end and a much smaller plug on the other? No impedence mismatch?2. Is the level of power output used by modern small earpiece/ phones the same as is needed by my old much larger headset. ie will I get any volume?

Hi, you shouldn

Thanks.I will make up a lead & hope that my Koss work as well as your Sennheiser.

Chris,As Uwe says you should be able to get a reducer so there is no need to make up a lead. The headphones I got for my Hi-Fi came with a reducer adaptor to go from 1/4 inch down to something smaller (not sure what).I suggest you have a look on the Web at Maplins site to get an idea of what's available and you should be able to pick one up at any good electronics store or Hi-Fi shop.

You should be able to get one at Radio Shack for $3-4.
