POSKY 737NG Virtual Cockpit and default wingviews

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new here and have a question.I've been using the POSKY 737NG add-on in FSX for quite some time and have enjoyed it very much. However, I have began to miss the Virtual Cockpit. The default interior, as you know, consists of the wings, engines, landing gear...etc. I know that there is a way to use the FSX Default 737-800 VC on this aircraft...(just a matter of copying some files etc.). Here's the catch....I would like to have the VC, but I also enjoy the interior wing vies as well. Basically what I am asking is....does anybody know if there is a way to have both the VC and the wing-views for VC view? Any help is appreciated. biggrin.gifThank-you, regards: i_am_canadian737.P.S: Sorry if you don't understand my question, It's kind of hard to explain. If I didn't explain well enough, let me know.

If you are talking about wing views from the virtual cockpit then no (the default doesn't have wings in the VC) , otherwise regular wings views are just camera definitions. There was a tutorial somewhere but i can't seem to find it.

Thank-you for the reply,I am aware that there are no wings in the FSX 737-800 VC, however there are in POSKY's. I was wondering if, I guess, if you could sort of "combine" the interiors together. Basically, you'd have both the VC and wing interior textures in the VC view. I hope I explained that better....sorry if there was any confusion. As for the tutorial, don't worry about it. Thanks anyways.Regards, i_am_canadian737

Virtual Cockpit wingviews are part of the model itself, so there is no way to add them yourself.

Ahh yes, that's true. I see now. Just the VC will have to do then. Thank-you for answering my question. Much appreciated.

If you go to the VC view and hold down Control+Shift+Return until your viewpoint moves outside the aircraft and pan the view around, you will see why it is not possible. The wings you see from the VC are part of the VC model and not the exterior model (Control+Shift+Backspace will shift your view back in the cockpit incidentally). The only way to change that would be to modify the VC you wanted to use so that it had wing views, and without having the model files to play about with, that's going to be tricky. some of the FS model parts are in the SDK, but I'm not sure if the 737 cockpit is one of them.Al

Okay, thank-you. It all makes sense now. Obviously I am not much of a modeling wizz, so I won't attempt that as you said. I guess I can also use the exterior camera and pan in front of the wings. Thank-you all for the feedback.Regards, i_am_canadian737
