November 29, 201015 yr Can someone please help? I've been working on this for a few days with no luck. All the forums and the PDF that came with the patch are old and maybe dont apply anymore. How do you create the FSGLC folder with the fsglc_us.bgl in it, and where do I put it so the scenery library can find it??? Also the same for the UTCITY. If MS wont let me use " \ " then how do I name a folder SCENERY\FSGLC\SCENERY and so on? aaaaaaand the LC files in my UTUSA folder all end with XXX instead of BGL and there is upwards of 150 of them. Do I copy each one individually? And with XXX is something wrong? If someone can take the time to explain this like your talking to a 2 year old I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,Rich
November 29, 201015 yr Well first of all make sure your Ultimate Terrain USA is patched up to version 1.30 by following the instructions on the websiteFirst things first '\' isn't part of the folder name it describes the location. So for example your Flight Simulator 9 folder is usually in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9. This means that the folder Flight Simulator 9 is inside of Microsoft Games, which is inside of Program Files, which is on your C: drive. So in your Flight Simulator 9 main folder go to the folder titled 'Scenery' and inside create a new folder called 'FSGLC'. Inside of that make a folder called 'scenery'. This is 'SCENERY\FSGLC\SCENERY'Next go back into 'Scenery', look for a folder called 'Base', and then a folder inside of that called 'scenery' in there look for the file "FSGLC_US.BGL" and move it back to the FSGLC\Scenery folder you just created.Open up FS2004 and now go to your Scenery Library and click 'Add Area' navigate to the FSGLC folder and add it so that it is the top layer. Now onto UTCITY:In your Flight Simulator 9 'Scenery' folder create a new folder called 'UTCITY' with a folder called 'scenery' inside of it. Go into Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\UTUSA\scenery now and select all the files that begin with the letters LC, followed by 6 numeric digits (i.e. LC930160.BGL). Move these into the UTCITY\scenery folder.Go back into FS9 and add UTCITY to the library on top of FSGLCHope this helpedAlex
November 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member To fix the .XXX file extensions just run the UT configurator and enable "Adjusted City/Town landclass. That'll rename them all back to .bgl. Once you get your sandwich set up and working, run the UT configurator again and disable them all once more as you no longer have a use for them. Once you get your UTCITY\Scenery folder set up and full of .bgls you'll probably find the patcher utility will throw an error. This is because it was made to patch UT v1.2 rather than v1.3. If you get an error something to the effect of: "UTCITY\Scenery\LC925230.BGL: unknown version" just go into the UTCITY\Scenery folder and rename LC925230.BGL LC925230.XXX and run the patcher again. I just went through this about 3 days ago :smile:Jim
