I Lost My Passion For Flight Simulation!

Featured Replies

>Larry,> you seem to lead a charmed life! As I recall you also didn't>see the dynamic blurred textures in FS2002 (they plagued me>all the time).>It must be charmed then! :)It must be remembered that I gave up on FS2000 long before most. I combined it's scenery with CFS2 & never looked back. The "mountain morphing" drove me crazy, considering most of my simulated flying is in mountainous areas. I DID see a few dynamic blurred areas (FS2002)with my older PIII600, but not to the extent of others. The now nearly two year old Athlon 1900XP/Geforce3Ti500 made those a thing of the past. And then I hear about this "autogen" problem for FS2004 that makes the sim nearly un-flyable for some------------ and I feel like I'm really missing out! :)Of course my CPU provider (Totally Awesome Computers-- SLC, Utah) always claims his computers benchmark higher than others. Maybe, he's right!!!!!!!!!L.Adamson --- still using the Athlon 1900

Out of curiosity, has anyone created a Perfmon log of FS9 to see what's going on? Someone who can reproduce this XML issue.Jim

Sorry to hear that you feel this way. Like your goodself, I have been flight simming for ages (ever since the days of Commodore 64.)During the days of Fs 2000, I lost interest even after clocking up over 2000 hours with a virtual airline. I had a break of about three years.Last year I purchased a new computer - with the view to re-commence flight simming again. I also purchase Fs 2002 and also obtained the updated Radar Contact. Since then I have installed FS 2004 and I wonder why I ever gave up this pastime in the first place.I have had the good fortune of experiencing next to no problems with Fs 2004 and swiftly came to the conclusion of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I run with a reasonable good frame rate etc. and have not had the problems with graphics that some people have had.Don't get me wrong, I am not boasting.......just wishing you well.Regards from EnglandRoger

It is to the point that nobody cares! It works for some and not others. This is not an Microsoft problem. If it was no one would be able to run it.
