December 2, 201015 yr As so many, i did every imaginable tweak, bojote etc..etc...I have FSGen, UTX. Gex, Rex 2 OD, Orbx, VFR Germany, Promesh Spain, Promesh GermanyThe problem is that the good, higher resolution textures take MINUTES until they pop up.Sometimes i do "testing" in slew mode because i want to see how certain areas look like. So i go a certain place, then i wait and wait for 5 minutes until finally i see high-res textures. Otherwise its a blurry mess and looks like shiate.Q6600 x 3.6ghzWin7 4GB RamGTX 275using mainly bojote's tool to tweak +/- some variations. I also defragged my HD with all the FSX data. But the textures are still loading so slow.
December 2, 201015 yr Hi Georg! I have a similar system (but yours is faster), and also the same problem.I presume you're doing the slew for test purposes?Have you tried locking your FPS (either in-game or via the FPS Limiter .bat file)? That usually helps me. On a related note, I experience blurry textures with PNW scenery when the fps is not locked. Even If I'm going 100 kts the textures do not load completely. With default scenery I can go about 160-200 kts and the scenery will load.I'd say the main issue is our lack of CPU power. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

In any case for slewing around the easiest fix is to assign a key combination to the "Refresh Scenery" command in FSX. I use Ctrl-Shift-S but any unused keystroke combo is possible. Just open the key controls setup menu and scroll to the "Refresh Scenery" entry. One caveat: if you force a scenery refresh with AI active you'll also spawn a new set of AI each time around, thus it's best to deactivate AI and reactivate it once you're done with slewing.Cheers, Holger
