MD 11 Specifications

Featured Replies

Hi - I am trying to find where the specs are located for the MD 11 ( e.g. are the max range for the passenger and cargo the same?). I have not been able to locate them in the manuals. Many thanks for any help or advice. Shaun Keegan

You could have a looky here http://www.md-11.org/The following two links are the best info you will find on the MD11, a very informative and everything you ever wanted to know about the MD11 and MD12 ( which never left the design room) http://md-eleven.net/This one here has what you want http://md-eleven.net...chnical-DetailsRemember, google is your friend Batting%20Eyelashes.gifCheersJulian

You're never really going to find that kind of "hard" information in a variable world. While, yes, Airliners.net has a decent section to find exactly what you're looking for (it's at the bottom of the airliners.net page - can't post links to the site here), it's not completely accurate. The max range depends on the weight, fuel load and flight conditions. In a perfect world, you might get what they quote for one model, but there is too much variation. Even within one fleet (one airline), you'll have some aircraft that have lavs in one spot and galleys in a another, while others have a completely different loadout. Because of this, weights are different, and the range will be slightly different. There's simply too much variation to say that the MD-11 gets X range across the board, or even the passenger version gets something, while the freighter another. Even with the freighter version, how you load the aircraft significantly affects its efficiency, which is why if you watch or ask an MD-11 flight crew for FedEx, they'll tell you an enormous amount of preparation and planning goes into what goes where for proper load balancing.
