Good news for Ti4200 users..

The brand new "official" Nvidia drivers (52.16) work with the 2xAA and 4xAF settings that caused problems with the 4x.xx drivers in FS9.If you are still running 30.82 drivers on a Ti4200 (as I was), these drivers are worth the upgrade. Get them from www.nvidia.com.Same (great) performance as the 30.82 drivers, but no more need for Rivatuner..

Thanks for the tip. I don't have fs2k4 but might as well keep up with the drivers anyhoo... :-abduct

I'm still using the 30.82's having gone back to them from some early 40 series driver that I actually prefered (because of the black screen FS2004 issue). Unfortunately it does not appear they have brought out a Win9x version so far. I hope they do.

If you are still using FS2002, I'd suggest you use the 2xAA and 2xAF setting (not 4xAF) for better performance.. on my system, FS9 is fine with 4xAF, FS2002 slows down, especially in VC and external views..

Hi Bert -I tried the 52.16s, but for my Ti4200 system, I still found the 30.82s to be slightly better at the same settings. Although this was before reading your post, I tried 2xAA but I really didn't see that much difference in the clarity. For me, using 8x anisotropic has the largest impact on scenery clarity at greater distances. Also, using my particular settings, the 30.82s gave me 16.5 fps sitting in the 172 at Seattle, whereas the 52.16s were about 15 fps. I didn't really do an exacting benchmark the two, but after flying the pattern in the 172 at KSEA, the 30.82s still seemed better for my particular system. I wonder then if Nvidia may have changed the filtering algorythms very slightly, as they claims in this release to have improved image quality. That might explain the negligible drop in performance you noticed.

Does anybody know why the english version weighs only 8.7MB while the international version goes all the way up to 18.9MB (10 MB bigger??). I really don't think this is only related to docs being translated to other languages but then I might be wrong. Pretty heavy docs if you aske me...Any clues?

Yes, it is all documentation in many, many languages.I routinely remove all these help files to free up space (not really significant, I know, but..)

I can attest to this post! I have a TI4200 and was running the 30.82 drivers... I'm getting about a 5 fps gain across the board, and a smoother, steadier picture! :-) Definitely worth the upgrade...Regards,Phil Geddes

I tried the new ones, For me, it was from around 15 with 30.82 down to 10 or 9 with the 52.16 running the same settings, so I went back to the trusty old 30.82's.
