October 27, 200322 yr I was having all kinds of problems with blurry textures on my Radeon 9800 Pro. Tried slider combinations, *.cfg tweaks, xp tweaks, you name it. Then (doh) I tried lowering the resolution to 1280x960 and everything is fine. And I don't see that much difference in quality (not worried about fps for the moment). I have AA and AF at 8 and most sliders maxed, no blurries anymore, and good quality image. When I switch back to 1600x1200 the blurries return, but I don't see that much of an image improvement when they aren't there. Is this wishful thinking on my part, or is there really not that much of a difference?thxbillg
October 28, 200322 yr Not to sound flip here, but if the lower works best for ya just go with it and forget about why. Course if you are an engineer I guess you'll need some kind of explaination or go sleepless. But I can't give it to ya. I'm a retired engineer so don't do the engineering stuff anymore. I just get the daggone thing to where I like it then fly off into the sunset with a beer in my hand and a big ol'smile on my face. ;)Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
October 28, 200322 yr Author Most of the cockpit panels in FS9 are in fact 1024x768 bitmaps, so you are not going to see much of an improvement at higher resolutions.. only the outside views get more detailed. If you are using 8xAA, the outside image gets processed and smoothed, so the higher resolution is no longer noticeable.I'm an engineer too, and I concur: "If it works, don't try to fix it!" Bert
