FS Recorder

Recommended Posts

Anyone else having trouble with FS Recorder? It used to work OK but now if I try to playback a recording it crashes FSX with a fatal error. :( I have re-installed it several times, but no good. I'm trying to do some formation flying and unless anyone has a better way of doing it, I'm all ears.Mike

Hi Mike,I really can't suggest anything to help you, but maybe try the forum over at the author of the program, Matthias Neusinger's website. He has been very helpful to everyone that has had any issues.http://www.fs-recorder.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=8Warm regards, Jeff

I read somewhere in the utility´s notes that some 3rd party aircraft might cause it to crash if you are using them during the recording. I have had the same problem in the past with the same thing and that was due to the add on aircraft I was recording. It recorded fine but then when I went to play it back to watch its flight it would just crash to the desktop straight away. Perhaps you have the same problem? Have you tried another aircraft, the default FSX 737 for example and then see if the CTD will occur. I know that in the recording preferences you can turn off some of the things it will record like movable surfaces etc and some people who have had bad luck with CTDs have found that turning off some of those settings will make the aircraft play back ok in the recording. Might be something you might have to do as well.Just a thought anyway.Craig

Hi Craig and Jeff, Thanks for the input, I think I have found the solution. Firstly I tried Craig's suggestion and loaded a stock Boeing 737, recorded three different flights and put them together , you can see the result here: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=dMePdSLXlyY Secondly I Googled the problem and found the answer on a forum that I already belong to : http://social.answer...42-146414087ec5 it seems that the problem is rife. In essence, it's all to do with uiautomationcore.dll which is found in C:\Windows\System32 & C:\Windows\SysWOW64 All you do is delete these two .dll's (I just renamed them .dlx just in case it all went ** up) and so far it has worked, I tried recording some third-party aircraft and hey presto! I also found a useful little app for changing permissions on files if cant delete them http://www.askvg.com...-windows-vista/Regards,Mike

Theres a post somewhere here that details the replacement if you are on 64bit OS.I used the replacement and have never had a CTD since.

Uhmm youre not suppose to delete anything... you are suppose to drop an older version of UIAutomationCore.DLL from Vista into your FSX directory, that's it.http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=17264.0

Hi Veeray,I did mention in my post that I didn't delete the file, just renamed it.That way it is easy to revert back to the old settings if anything goes wrong.I did infact change it back to the it's original name after an unrelated program which shared that .dll was affected.Mike
